Being fairly new to the Gulfport, MS area, who are the most reputable and reasonable insurance companies?

When I moved to the area, the major companies were not accepting new policies. The company I eventually chose turned out to be a middle man who put me off on another company. Being in the path of the storm (Katrina), and after filing our first claim, we realized we were with the wrong company. We're now up for renewel. Any suggestions? The wind and hail portion of the policies has increased by 90%. Is this increase nationwide?
